CRTified

Troubleshooting

Solutions for common CRTified issues.

Troubleshooting

Plugin Not Appearing

DaVinci Resolve

  1. Make sure Resolve is fully closed before running the installer
  2. Clear the OFX cache:
    • Windows: Delete files starting with OFXPluginCache in %APPDATA%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\
    • macOS: Delete files starting with OFXPluginCache in ~/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Support/
  3. Restart Resolve
  4. Look in Effects Library > OpenFX > Stylize > CRTified

After Effects

  1. Close After Effects before running the installer
  2. Look in Effect > EZSCAPE > CRTified
  3. If missing, check that the plugin is in the correct directory:
    • Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\CRTified\
    • macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/CRTified/

CRTified requires a supported GPU. If your GPU is too old or unsupported, the plugin will fall back to CPU rendering which is significantly slower.

Performance

Plugin is slow or dropping frames

  • CRTified is GPU-accelerated. Performance depends on your GPU, resolution, and which effects are enabled.
  • Disable effects you're not using - each active section adds to render time
  • The glow system (Bloom + Halo) is the most GPU-intensive. Reduce Halo Radius for faster rendering.
  • CPU fallback mode is significantly slower than GPU rendering. Check that your GPU drivers are up to date.

Preview looks different from render

  • Some hosts render at reduced resolution during playback. The final render will match what you see at full quality.

Presets

My saved looks disappeared

  • User presets are stored per-project in DaVinci Resolve. They travel with the project file.
  • In After Effects, presets are stored per-effect instance.

Preset looks different than expected

  • Presets set all parameters. If you've modified settings after loading a preset, those changes override it.
  • Use "None (Reset)" to return to factory defaults before loading a preset.

License Issues

Watermark visible after activation

  1. Click Refresh Status in the License section
  2. Close and reopen the host application
  3. Clear the OFX cache (Resolve only) and restart

"Activation failed" error

  • Verify your email and license key match your purchase confirmation
  • Ensure you have an internet connection
  • Make sure you're using the correct key for your host app (DVR key for Resolve, AE key for After Effects)
