Ditheron
What's New
New features and improvements in each version of Ditheron.
What's New
Version 1.7
- Blur — pre-dither Gaussian blur smooths the input image before the dither engine, softening dot patterns and reducing noisy edges
- Crush — tonal range compression that pushes shadows and highlights toward pure black/white, narrowing the zone where dithering appears for dramatic high-contrast looks
- Everything from v1.6 plus two new Adjustments controls
Version 1.6
- Per-Channel Dither toggle — quantize RGB channels independently across all algorithm families for color variation
- Variance control — dither pattern density responds to image brightness, thinning out in shadows and filling in highlights
- Improved Scale — smoother block averaging for better-looking downsampled dithering at high scale values
Version 1.5
- Print algorithm family — 8 new styles inspired by physical printing and engraving: Halftone AM, Line Engrave (H/V), Crosshatch Engrave, CMYK Halftone, FM Stochastic, Stipple, and Mezzotint
- Density glow mode — a new glow type where bright pools form around clusters of dithered dots, following the structure of the dither pattern itself
- Algorithm count expanded from 55 to 63 across 7 families
Version 1.4
- After Effects support - full parity with the DaVinci Resolve version
- 20 user-saveable presets with per-section locking
- Randomize with locking - roll the dice on everything, or lock sections you want to keep
- Rent-to-own pricing - monthly payments that accumulate toward owning the plugin
- Custom palette editor now supports Coolors.co URL import
- Performance improvements across all GPU backends
Version 1.3
- Advanced glow system - Simple, Per-Color, and Directional modes
- Full glow controls: intensity, radius, threshold, tint, saturation, softness, angle
- 31 built-in presets for instant creative starting points
- Downscale options from 720p down to 32p for chunky pixel art
- macOS support with Apple Silicon native performance
Version 1.2
- 41 original color palettes across 7 categories - Film Stock, Decade, Genre, Camera, Art Movement, Environment, Hardware
- Custom palette editor with 5 color slots and harmony modes (Analogous, Complementary, Triadic, Split-Comp)
- Reactivity parameter - dither patterns that respond to edges and motion
- Brightness, contrast, saturation, gamma, and invert adjustments
Version 1.1
- Pathfinder algorithm family - 8 space-filling curve algorithms
- Modu family - 6 modulation-based algorithms (halftone, crosshatch, wave)
- Creative family - 7 stylized effects
- Glitch family - 10 destructive algorithms
- Algorithm count expanded from 13 to 55
Version 1.0
- Initial release for DaVinci Resolve on Windows
- 13 dithering algorithms across Scatteral and Grid families
- Basic color palette support
- GPU-accelerated rendering
